I let us all down today and failed to pay attention to detail. Forgot to tuck my collar in and my string caught it when I released. Slapped an arrow right off the back of a WV 11-point at 25 yards broadside at 7:30 this morning. That's the only deer either of us saw from the stand today. We hung some great sets for tomorrow AM in a super remote, river bottom CRP field. We are both on inside corners with hardwoods behind us. Should be a decent morning.

So far, we've walked 14 miles in 3 days. Two certainties this trip: It's beautiful down here and we've worked hard.

We spent last night at deer camp with some locals. We ate fresh deer meat off a doe they'd killed, fried taters and onions, drank some beers, played corn hole on the coolest set of custom boards I've ever seen, and listened to a young man named Hunter Hathcoat play guitar and sing around the fire, all on the banks of the Current River deep in the Ozark Mountains. It was a good a time as can be had on this planet.

Sounds like a great trip. Sorry about the luck on your buck. All the fun, none of the mess as ol' Brock would say. At least the dude was playing the guitar and not banjo. That is some remote country. The things Deliverance stories are made of. lmao

Great stuff guys! Hope you're filling memory cards with pictures and then filling some deer tags tomorrow. Good luck and have fun!!
