I connected on a morning hunt around 8am and an evening hunt just after sunset. Maybe 7-730pm.

I have lengthened my sits. When I hear bird or squirrels start squawking or see some deer get fidgety, I shut down the caller and wait another 10min or so. If nothing, I turn it on quiet calls for maybe 10-30sdconds every 2-5min. Not running a clock. Just guessing at durations as I repeat them to you. Doesn't need to be structured. A dying animal won't likely have rhythmic noises I wouldn't think.

Checking snares and shed hunting today. Snow is still too deep. Found some awesome stand locations though. Enjoyed some good scenery also.

Take it easy on the knee but enjoy yourself. A hunter can sure learn a ton in the woods right NOW.

As long as I don't twist it the wrong way I'm fine, I did once today though. I agree, scouting this time of the year is the best IMO. I found a pinch point in between the river and a alfalfa field that was littered with huge tracks, rubs, and buck shit the size of a baseball.

Can you gain easy entry/exit access? Good tree suitable for a stand which allows for predominant winds? If so, you have found a killing spot. Good stuff man! Not that I am telling you anything you don't know. Just saying, these are the thoughts which cross my mind when I see things in such light.

I have a towpath that is not far from my house that runs along the river. I was thinking about getting a bike, a bow sling and riding there. It would be about a 15 minute bike ride. I could ditch my bike along the path and walk 70 yards to the stand. Sounds killer IMO. I would make way too much noise if I had to walk coming in from the other way.
