Was getting the skid steer out to do some work and this fugger surprised me. I keep the skid steer in a steel shipping container so soon as I opened the doors there he was. Not a huge fan of snakes but he didn’t Fugg with me so I left him be, he’s welcome to stay and eat the mice that get in there but if I hop in the skid steer and he comes slithering out on me Im probably gonna shit myself. He was 2-3 ft and I’ve never seen a snake like that around here, guessing he’s a rat snake from looking up snakes of Ohio.

I think if the wife would of seen it, that would of been a possibility 😂
If’n it was just me here, it’d of gotten a pass. But with her? I didn’t want too deal with her on that.
My wife would’ve went outside to catch it herself!
On a side note, about ten minutes ago she said there was a skunk in our front yard which is fenced in for the dogs to roam. The front doggie door was closed (thank god) and we watched the skunk walk toward our house and it appeared he was headed for the deck. I couldn’t go outside without the dogs getting by me so I just started to bang on the wood frame of the sliding glass door…that skunk just about turned inside out before sprinting for the wood line. Looked almost like a cat when you startle it! I was laughing my ass off….cheap entertainment!😂

Alfred Hitchcock coulda made this script! Birds, birds and more flipping birds! Cardinals still attacking our car windows STILL and they’ve been perching on our ceiling fans on front porch and party light lines on our back porch and shitting in several areas. We’ve stooped so low to hang rubber snakes in places where they hang versus the SSS method but my patience is wearing thin. If this doesn’t work it’s about to get ugly. 😎

Been to campgrounds where folks have the same problem, but leave their fans on 24/7

Made a good snake outta him. Well done. :)
If they’re in the woods or down the driveway they get a pass. This one was way too comfortable around the house and mainly the floor joists of the deck and screened porch. Found part of its shed skin on the deck last week.
I will say it wasn’t aggressive or try too get away. Just sat there on the floor joist looking at me like “what’s up dude?”

A little over a week ago, we were about to leave for vacation and I knocked part of our squirrel feeding station off the tree. It landed on the gallon glass jug on the main feeder and destroyed it. Shattered into hundreds of pieces. It was time for this to be replaced, anyway.

We ordered a new glass jug from OBX and when we got back, I got crackin' on the replacement.

They were really timid about the fresh feeder when they came back in. It had to be inspected from all angles.

And finally, they trusted it and are using it.

Oh, also, fun story. You've seen those moments in survival shows when they say how you're supposed to bang on your shoes or boots when they've been outside to make sure there are no bonus critters in there? Well, I grabbed a pair of slip on shoes (like low cut Muck's) barefoot from the garage recently and slid them on to go out and shoot. After maybe 8-10 steps, I thought something was inside the left shoe. Nothing moving, there was just something in there. I slid it off, and inside was a freaking wolf spider.

I survived. It didn't. And now I'm paranoid about those shoes.

Fugg them shoes. They would be put in the next fire and I would purchase a brand new pair. I will go out and manhandle the most pissed off water moccasin you can find but I don’t do spiders.

I got into that habit of turning boots and shoes upside down being deployed. Force of habit now…. Every once in a while, I’ll get a surprise.
