The ODNR has no clue what they are talking about. Or they don’t want the public to know the truth that there is a very healthy population of bobcats.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in saying a "rare encounter" as that's definitely not your every day occurrence. But in my parts, they went from being the mascot of my elementary and college alma mater, to commonplace in a 6 year time frame. Literally 0 pics from 2005 to 2015 on our farm, to every cam check it seems. Hell, my BIL trapped 2 in 2 days last year. It's time to open some tags up.

Around our camp they are a common occurrence. Seen several while hunting. I have seen more live bobcats while hunting than I have coyotes..

I've not seen one yet. But, they are on my trail camera nearly every time I swap out cards. They have been pretty common at my property the last two years. I'd say a few more yotes than cats, but the cats are closing the gap.

Like some of the others, I can’t believe how quickly they have become a common sight, at least on trail camera.
