Finally made it back home today from my week in Ohio. Started on Monday : got up my tree before light, rain had passed and the wood were very quiet. 0900hrs I spot one coming my way. Picked up the bino's and could tell he was a young but up and coming nice 9 point. Let him walk on by and hunted til dark seeing 3 more for the day. 3 bucks, 120ish 9, 4 and a cow horn. Tuesday : Got soaking wet that morning but did see 3, small 7 and two doe. Moved locations at 12, to dry out. No chasing yet. Wednesday: had three bucks chasing a doe run by, one shooter, looked like a big 8 but I did everything I could to stop them except throw my bow at them. Nothing worked. Saw a few more that afternoon, no other shooters. Thursday: Very foggy morning in Adams county. At 0730 I pick up my grunt call and do two loud grunts. As soon as I hang it by on the hook I hear something running towards me. Quick, I grab the bow and get ready. He comes in and I knew he was good enough for me. Hit him with the rangefinder at 30 yards. Shoot and I hear the Thwack and he falls down like I shot him with the 270. He gets up and tries to run pushing his front end on the ground and heads downhill. I knew I hit him good so I give him 45 minutes and climb down. Ray charles could have tracked him, blood everywhere and he literally slid down the hill. I wish I would have taken a picture of the entrance and exit wound but let me tell you. I hit him square in the shoulder. The swacker, broke the shoulder bone upon entrance and exited out of the other shoulder. Man I love those broadheads !! So without further,,,,,,,,,, here he is. My secound largest buck. I roughed scored him tonight at 139 7/8. Not my 152 from last year but I'm very proud of him IMG_3438.jpgIMG_3440.jpg

I take my dad up with me every year for some father son time. He missed a good deer Wednesday afternoon and killed a doe Thursday.

That’s good stuff man! Making memories...I wish you both years of great success. One thing I wished I did more of over the years is taking pictures and getting hard copies of them. I’d love to have one wall in my man cave of hunts.
