Brian, Old Joe, Jarred and I went to the creek this morning. It was 2 degrees when I bailed out of the truck. I’m new to duck hunting so I enjoy these fully set up hunts with friends that know what they are doing. It’s handy they have good dogs too. Lots of fun and numb feet. Definitely worth getting out of bed, but I’m not sure duck hunting will ever be my thing.

Brock, do you let others shoot rabbits when your dogs are on the ground?

I have a strict no rabbit rule, but curious how you handle it
It’s never really come up in conversation. Mason is about the only person I hunt with. There are a few others that go along occasionally, but they are never people that give me concern. If they do cause me to worry about my dog they don’t get invited to come back. Valid concern.

Mason finally punched his buck tag. Kid has worked hard this year. We don’t know this deer. He just found him a few days ago. But in trail cam pics he looked old and big-bodied. We really don’t know… but believe that to be the case. Anyway, he decided yesterday he was gonna kill it given the chance. 42 yards and he pinwheeled him.
