Buckeye Trees

Not really. Kids seems to like them, though. They are a dirty tree, meaning they drop their fruit and you have to mow over or around them. If you're considering planting them I would refrain.
If you want Buckeye's let me know. Two of the properties I hunt have those trees all over the place.
No, I'm not looking at planting them. A neighbor gave me a bag of the nuts thinking deer ate them. I didn't have the heart to tell her different. It just had me curious if they did have any value at all in the woods.
There's one in my front yard 
We pick 'em up in the fall, dad drills them, and mom's kindergarten class makes necklaces.
As for deer, no clue.

I have yet to see any use for them in the woods. Deer won't eat them and I have never seen a squirrel, chipmunk or anything else for that matter ever eat them.
Sounds like you should send 'em to Capt Ernie's mom and get yourself some Buckeye's necklaces made up!! Go Bucks!!
