Not really. Kids seems to like them, though. They are a dirty tree, meaning they drop their fruit and you have to mow over or around them. If you're considering planting them I would refrain.
No, I'm not looking at planting them. A neighbor gave me a bag of the nuts thinking deer ate them. I didn't have the heart to tell her different. It just had me curious if they did have any value at all in the woods.
I have yet to see any use for them in the woods. Deer won't eat them and I have never seen a squirrel, chipmunk or anything else for that matter ever eat them.
