Sweet! Man is that a good feeling... I remember the feeling when we finally got that project done. Such a feeling of relief and accomplishment. Cheers!

Thanks guys. At this point I need to do some clean up around the cabin and repair some insulation under the cabin that stray cats and critters have torn down. But it should just be upkeep now. It would be nice to improve the driveway up to it but that might just invite some unwanted guests.

Congrats on getting the solar hooked up! Can you share your system design specs? What total wattage in panels, controller, voltage, amps, battery bank design?

I am the least electrically educated guy on the planet.....by choice but I will try to answer your questions as best I can. We can switch back and forth from Solar to Generator with the flip of a switch but will use solar exclusively unless issues arise. It is only being used for lights, water pump and radio.

1) We have one Kyocera 140 watt solar panel. It is appx 2 feet x 4 feet.
2) SunSaver 10 amp 12 volt Controller
3) Discover EV 24A-A 12 volt battery
4) Magnum 1000 Watt 12 volt inverter
5) I'm not sure of the specs on the transfer switch

The water pump is wired directly to the battery. The cabin wiring is also wired to the battery...but we only plan on running lights and a radio for now. If we need more power we can add more batteries and solar panels---I think.
