Capt had his first encounter

Feel bad ol Cap't did see any this evening. I think that full moon is messing things up and changing the time and place the deer are moving.

The stands are open anytime your home and can hunt Cap't. We will get you one yet buddy :D.

I love you guys.

I am so fuggggin tired I will post something later. Went to bed last night about 11, got up at 5 and haven't stopped moving yet. I can get up for some OSU tickets tomorrow though! Be at the game all day!

Wait until you hunt your first rut week.... Drink till midnight at the cabin. Up at 5, lunch at 11:30, and back in the stand at 1:00.. For 7 days straight! Wanna talk about tired... lol

funny thing is I can envision every detail of your story, I sat in that very stand tuesday night and let a doe with a fawn and a button buck walk by. It's a pretty good stand isnt it? I am deciding if I'm gonna sit in that one or put a climber up around the corner where that quad path pops out.

good deal having a little success your first time out, thats better than most of us can say.
hopefully the next time you wanna come up, I can tag along, you can sit that stand again if you want or I've got an extra climber I can let you use if you want.
 
Dante - if you do, keep a spare arrow to poleaxe that groundhog! It is a good stand... the little fella with the momma doe could have been a button, not sure. Came in from the left though.

I second that. I spend 9 months of the year sleeping too much to compensate for 3 months of sleep deprivation in the fall/winter!!! :D

Glad you are having fun Steve. Keep the stories coming...
 
Well...in four days of break I managed 16 hours in the woods. Not a single thing to show for it (no one understands that), but a ton of lessons learned and a great break. There is nothing that does me better than being in the woods. Ahhhhhh...

When is Thanksgiving break? :D
 
I might have shot your Groundhog but we still have a few stands and deer waiting for your next trip home :D.

Don't worry about a measly 16hrs with nothing in hand buddy. I wouldn't want to count the hours in stand without a sighting let alone a deer on the ground :D.
 
Did you shoot the one in the field I was sitting in?? Dang it, I was gettin ready to name him!

Maybe I said that wrong - I'm so glad I got the opportunity to get in the stand for 16 hours. I got to draw on my first deer...miss my first deer, and got to experience bow hunting. There is way more than killing and when you don't get to get out much, it is so amazing to find yourself back in the field - reassured that you are a hunter!

Two Arrows is what I named the little feller :D. That's indian and the meaning comes from " laying dead in the field with 2 arrows in ya "

Nope, didn't see him dang...my guess would be that's the deer that was hanging out by my truck. FUGGIN A MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
