Live hunt coming to you in the morning. Louisiana boy hunting Arkansas Cashe River Nwr muzzle loader hunt Saturday thru Monday. Did a lot of scouting. Big woods that reminded me of hunting Missouri. Wide open with vegetation to your knees. Didn’t find as much sign as I was hoping for but finally decided on a spot. Took some pics, hope to post some LDP’s soon. Well shit I can’t post pics. Mod please help a brother out. I will try again later.

Nothing but tree rats so far. Heard3 shots. Looking like first legal deer will eat smoke. Time will tell.

Update on evening hunt. We went back to our stands except I went in sniper mode.... hunting on the ground. Passed my stand and went in another quarter. Jumped a deer, kinda looked like this years fawn.... I was thinking 50-60#. Sat down on a fallen tree that butted next to a big tree. Soon as I sat down I could feel cold wetness... yup ass is soaked. 5 minutes later, I’m looking the direction of the path that the deer ran and I see a “doe”. It was heading back from where I seen the deer run from. Looked small and shot wasn’t good so I watched it. Could’ve killed it (maybe) and decided to not shoot. After a few minutes I deduced it was the same deer and must have been young to have come back to its bed. Evening was eventful w tons of squirrels keeping me alert.

So after sleeping in a tent on cots, and trying to do the next night and it rained. We slept in the trucks. Tonight I couldn’t take it anymore so we loaded up and got a motel room. The shower felt like one of the best I’ve had lol. Going next door to the Mexican joint to eat. We will be going back out in the morning. I’m not expecting much of anything except time in the woods w friends and family and away from work.

I know the amount of deer y’all are used to seeing as I’ve hunted oos. I was expecting more action than we are getting. This live hunt could be the biggest dud on this forum. Thanks for following. To be continued.

Well close this thread out. Woke up this morning and we said fuck it. Ate breakfast, drove 20 miles and put boat in water to go get stands out the woods. I hope this ain’t a year of hunting trips like this one.

Damn man...I let eagerly reading expecting a good ending. Bummer
