Cellular Cams..

Had some real nice person decide they needed my battery tray. I called tacticam and they are shipping me one for free. Shout out to them for that! I don't even need to pay shopping.

I logged in afterwards and ordered lock boxes. Done playing games and taking chances. So with their nice gester it got me to spend another $100 with them.

That sucks Dave.

I am thinking of getting a trail cam for the first time. Any downsides to tactacam reveal x gen three? I am looking at buying 2 with solar panels. How long to the batteries last if just taking pictures? I can probably only talk my Ag renter into swap batteries and cards out every 1 to 2 weeks.

Tom I have the Gen 2 and I’m using it in a very shaded area. It’ll last about 6 months and then I’ll have to recharge both battery and solar panel. If I was on a field edge I’d probably not have to recharge it.

@Archertl ... You said you'd have someone swap batteries and cards out every 1 - 2 weeks... NO NEED FOR THAT... We run numerous cams out in Illinois on Eveready Lithium batteries for months on end without solar panels... Some cameras run from March thru Nov. without changing cards or batteries... Remember the more pics you take the faster the batteries die out... And videos eat up the batteries faster... As long as you have sun for solar panels you will be fine for months on end ..

Unless my friend changed them ( which I doubt ) they should be on like every 15 seconds... One thing to remember is no baiting what's so ever in Illinois, so these cameras are relying on trails, pinch points, scrapes and so on... So this means less pics and longer battery life .. On a feeder in Ohio battery life is going to be less .. Now here in Jersey over my bear bait sites I use regular duracells and they last quite awhile...
