Now that ND lost to Clemson. . .does that mean they swap second and third place? Or does that mean they are both one loss teams and drop to fifth and sixth?

Alabama will stay #1. Clemson and ND should swap places as they're the only 10-1 teams in the top 10, and they have 2 more games than everyone else in the top 10. They've earned it regardless of the 1 loss. #5 Texas A&M as an 8-1 team with their only loss to #1 Alabama should make the 4th slot. The only team with the same number of games (8) but no losses in the top 10 is #9 Cincinnati, and they played nobody. #5 has more games (2) than OSU and their only loss was to #1. They should bump up.

1. Alabama. 10-0
2. Clemson. 10-1
3. Notre Dame 10-1
4. Texas A&M. 8-1
5. Ohio State. 6-0

But as we've seen the CFP is a bunch of bullshit and it has nothing to do with merit. So they will bump ND out to make room for OSU. Despite that struggle win against cupcake NW today and barely playing half a season.

I was waiting for it. I knew it was coming. I said it myself today "OSU did NOT play like a top four team in the first half." I did get to watch the second half. Fields was off. We came out in third quarter soft. We were down 22 players. NW has an impressive defense. Yet, our defense stepped up and allowed zero points in the second half. Sermon stepped up and ran like a beast. The o line was phenomenal. Even the receivers and tight ends blocking down field were phenomenal. Ohio State gets better as the season goes on. I don't know that we are ready for the play offs. We need a few more games to sort the bugs out. We won't get them. We may or may not make the play offs. We may or may not be a top four team. Whatever happens in the CFP for OSU I can live with. If we get in. . .the coaches better work these boys hard to get them prepared.

ND sold their soul to even play this year. They've never been part of anything besides ND football. They wouldn't of done that any other year. But since they have a good team, they did. Otherwise they would have zero games. I don't think they deserve a shot here. They've never wanted to be a part of anything before.

We shall see, but after listening to UM and those guys after the game, the Bucks will play in the CFP!
Nobody cares to see ND and Clemson play again. They will put 2 teams from the SEC in and Clemson and the Bucks. Either way I look to see the same CFP championship as last year but with a possible Change in the winner. T Law looks like the heisman winner also!

First off, to hell with ND. Secondly, I agree with Joe's top four. But no way do they keep ND at #3. They dont want Clemson/ND again. More than likely since the committee will make a financial decision, I see it being BAMA vs ND in one game and Clemson vs OSU In the other

Pretty bad play calling by OSU coaches the first half. Explosive run then pass pass pass or gadget play. The o-line and RB could have put the game away in the first half if the coaches weren’t too proud to stick with the passing.

Maybe so, I would imagine Day is primary play caller with his offensive background. Easy to be an arm chair coach after the fact. They made good adjustment sticking with run game to close things out.

This right here is the majority of the problem with the CFP. What people want to see should have zero bearing on who plays. What was earned by the teams on the field should be all that matters. Not surprising though considering the major reason that we got rid of the merit-based BCS system was because people were tired of not their team.

If we can't maintain the integrity of a merit based tite system, and entertainment becomes the focus, then postseason title game college football is no better than some bullshit reality show like the bachelorette. At least when Nascar tried to get better ratings by adding in some tits and rolling out the red carpet for Danica they maintained the integrity of the merit-based system

I don't think anything. The merit data speaks for itself. A 10-1 #2 team with their only loss being late season to the #3 team belongs in the #3 slot. And they damn well belong in over a 6-0 team, no matter how you slice the pie.

The same as the #5 team that is 8-1 team with their only loss being to #1 belongs in the #4 slot over 6-0 team. Those two games have to count for something if we're also going to say the 1 loss counts.

I’ll give that a 6-0 team doesn’t have the same amount of wins as an A&M, but it’s not the teams fault they haven’t got more games.
If they turn the Bucks away then the Big Ten holds all the responsibility. And this will affect all the big ten teams for Bowl Game appearance’s . When teams don’t play bowl games then their conference receives no $. The Big Ten has cost all their schools $$$$$$$ because of them being Pussy’s.

If ND hadn’t gotten bent over and reamed for 4 whole quarters I’d be on board with your “merit” point Joe. Just sayin’!

I was not happy with how the Buckeyes played but because of the over the top Covid rules applied by the conference leaders we didn’t field our best players and missed some coaches as well.

I’m with Jamie though, this conjured up political correctness being rammed down our throats has made me care less and less about a lot of things I used to really enjoy including college football....

Such is life. Decisions have consequences. Other team's that earned it shouldn't be punished because the Big 10 made a decision that resulted in them not earning it. We might as well hand the decision over to Bernie Sanders if that's the way we decide the CFP instead of merit.

They didn't deserve shit, it was given to them. Regardless of the outcome they never deserved to be there. .. 8-1 Texas A&M with more games and only one loss to the #1 ranked team is who actually deserved it.

I'd have rather been fourth. I want a Buckeye/Bama game. Clemson wins over OSU. Clemson stomps Bama is my prediction. 10-2 Florida put serious points up against Bama. Bama hasn't faced a good defense all year. The most exciting game to end the season would be OSU vs Bama. Winner goes to get stomped by Clemson. Unfortunately, nobody wants a three game Clemson/ND series. Honestly, the way OSU played the first half, I wouldn't have bitched if we got ceded 5 or 6. Out of the playoff.
