We had the thunder roll through around 3. Deer were moving good after the heavy stuff let up. Looks like tomorrow is gonna be about the same too minus the thunder.

Damn! Don't say that. I'm skipping out on Friday night football to hit the blinds with the boys.

Here's the setup tonight. We are hunting a farm we haven't been to yet this year. We saw a small 4 point on the way in feeding. Klay and I tried to put the sneak on him. We inched up a fencerow, but he busted us at about 50 yards. Almost...

Here are some pics of our setup. In the one pic you can see my dad and Kody's blind across a cut that the seer funnel into the field through. We got both sides covered and the wind is perfect.
The blind isn't brush in because we did a rush job today. Sometimes it dont matter though.

Tonights spot paid off. Kody shot his first buck. A 5 point at 50 yards! I'll be making a thread with a story as soon as I get pics. What a shot he put on him!!!

I went and hung one more stand in prep for primetime today. It is on the second level of 3 benches that run above a creek bottom. I now have the east side and west side of the property covered as well as the dead center.
Now that one son is out of the way with his buck, I can focus more on ME!
I'll be taking Klay out this evening if the rain holds off and then next week starts my time.
I'll leave Klay with my dad if there are days he wants to go.

Hopefully I can help get Team Chasin Tail moving up the scoreboard.

I finally got to go get out by myself and I even remembered all my equipment. Saw a Big Boy tonight! He came out of the thicket to my right about 60 yards away. I saw the flicker of his tail as he was feeding. I put the binos up and WOW!!! Talk about getting the blood pumping. We haven't had this guy on camera, I know that. He slowly fed hi way out of sight never to return. I think he was bedded above me and made his way on an agle out of the thicket from my right and the disappeared as he fed straight out from me. Hopefully we cross paths again. One positive is that I know he didn't have a clue I was there.
From what I could tell was that he was a main frmae 8 with nice mass and width.

I got to spend the weekend at Sandridge with Jesse, huntn2, and Hoytmania. On Friday evening 5 doe came in. 2 of them went right under my stand.
On Saturday I got skunked, but it was still a great experience.
