Coyote Challenge

Excellent work! Bummed I can't be all the way in the action. A property owner and I have an agreement that him and I go set snares together then he will check them when I can't. I miss the anticipation of rolling by each snare every morning lol. However, I am very thankful to be given the opportunity to still thin the yotes.

Nice! Is this the new property you picked up?

Yeah it is. Actually he caught a coon in the snare he set I believe which is pretty cool! Him and I are going to try an air compressor method of skinning it. I plan to try and go calling this weekend between jobs. Should be prime time if only weather would cooperate.

Hell ya! Are they calling for rain?

No just temps on the 60's not sure if the yotes will mind or not. My ar is scopeless right now so I may have to use .30-06 (don't really like that idea)

Hunt the mornings and evenings, I've always had luck in the mornings. If they hear an easy meal calling for them they will come.

Okay sounds good. I believe you said to start with a vocal first? Do you get out there before dark like deer hunting or does that matter?

Yote vocals are good this time of year. I'd get out there 20-30 minutes before sunrise if possible, but a few weeks ago my buddy and I didn't get out and set up until 7:20, we had one dead at 7:40. Always use the wind to your advantage and realize that the yotes will do the same.

Cole, if you are wanting to run a trap line...I know a place about 20 minutes from campus that could use it. Or anyone else that's might be interested. I don't want to send just anyone...I just can't drive 2 hours each way every day.

Good chit

Hmmm that is an offer worth considering. My only worry I what I would do with any animals I caught. Something to think about. I sure appreciate it!

Caught a nice looking female today.
Had a real pretty coat.
Giving it to Rick so he can add to his tanned fur bundle.
