Neither Rick or I know what species of wood this is. Maybe if I would of paid attention the few times I went to my dendrology class at hocking I'd know. Anyway, wood conditioner is all that's on it for now. Sanded down to 600. Runs like a raped hen on slate though!

What we do know is it looks really good and there's plenty more where that came from!

Cherry I turned this morning, just wiped down with mineral spirits to get any sanding dust off. That knot in the wood was giving me some problems, as they usually do, but they look cool when finished!
