Custom turkey strikers

Got to spend some time with Chad today and got my Tusky River Widowmaker Striker.
He made it just like i wanted it,kinda plain looking and not shiney.
It came out nice as it was to go with my grandpa's old Ben Lee Super Hen trough slate call i got after he passed away.
The thing makes awesome purrs and clucks just as i thought it would.
I might have to bring this call out of retirement.
Havn't used it for over 20 years, just for display.
Thanks Chad! 0611171403.jpg0611171403a-1-1.jpg

It was fun hanging out and seeing your huntin grounds, Brian! I'm glad you like the striker, it looks good with your grandpa's old Ben Lee!

Rick gave me quite a few apple, cherry, and cedar logs when we met up today. They are perfect size for turning strikers and some I will save for when I start doing pots. Anywho, I couldn't help myself and just got an apple striker sanded down to 400 with a coat of wood conditioner. The grains on this one are very purdy! Thanks brother!

You are welcome buddy. I have cedar in the 5-6" size for pots when yer ready.

A buddy at work mentioned that he had a several cans of different colored stains that he had from when he did gun stocks and doesn't do them anymore. Being that he has no access to firewood I told him I'd trade him some pine for it, since I have a shit load of it. One of the stains is cherry, and I just so happen to have some cherry wood😎
