Yep, that's sumac. Not the poison variety though. We have burn it while clearing brush before...

The deer not only like it but will eat the "berries" at the top. Shorter trees are a late season food source for them. They are very sour and can be made into a tea. After boiling off you could tap a maple tree for the suger water to sweeten it.
Its really more of a lemonade than a tea but has a lot of vitiman C.
We made it in Boy Scouts when I was a kid.
