Deer opening day numbers

TOO see zero deer, all day yesterday, was a shock to me. It didn't even rain here until 3:30.

Both days of sitting, all day yesterday and 6 hours today and saw 8 deer total and could of downed 2 doe yesterday.... chose not too.... waiting on a buck.... but the shooting was way off from years past.... today was almost non-existant...

Talked to my cousin that hunted public land in southern Ohio yesterday. He said gun shots counted were down. Only heard around 90 before 10am yesterday. Last year was something like 110 by 10am. :smiley_crocodile:

I am not sure how that relates to the harvest numbers though. Could be they are better shots. Could be there were less guys hunting. lol

I haven't made it out yet. Today was hooking plows, spreaders, and prepping trucks for tonight. I am hoping to get out by the end of the week if I am lucky.

That's terrible. We are covering about 1200 acres per day. Granted it was the same 12 again today but usually they will flock right back in the next night with more friends... Not today....lol
