Dick's quarterly sales DOWN.....

Boycotting in today's time is next to impossible unless you're just boycotting a certain business just because and not based on ideals since you're going to have to research heavily to know who all is involved in what you don't agree with. Pretty much the same with vegans/vegetarians. Unless you're self sustaining, your money is still going into "the problem" somewhere.

For everyday living items I somewhat agree. I don't necessarily agree when it comes to purchase of specialty items such a sporting goods. It's pretty easy to look up and figure out who stands behind us as gun owners and who only sells guns because it's profitable. I prefer to give my dollars to companies who don't just claim that they support our rights to own guns, bit those who actively support it. Midway USA, Sportsmans Guide, various gun sites across the net as well as your local mom and pop. Big box stores like Dicks claim to be huge supporters of sportsmen and the 2a, yet they banned "assaylt rifles" and even hired lobbyist in Washington to push for banning them. IMO if a retailer isn't publically willing to support the NRA which is the largest and most effective gun lobby that we have, then they don't support our rights. Simply selling guns, ammo, and hunting stuff doesn't mean anything except they like profits.

If you're shopping at big box stores and wanting to boycott them for political reasons that's when it becomes extremely hard. You can't possibly follow all the revenue streams coming in and going out. You have massive investors that put their money literally everywhere because there goal is to get more money, not morals, not our freedoms profit. These same major investors donate to many political parties as well to keep their door open for communication and sway.

Sure Mom n pop stores you will have a pretty good idea, but publicly traded compaines? Not a chance in hell that you know all their dealings and can be certain their dollars or an investor of their dollars profiting from you is now sending your money somewhere you don't approve.

We need a vehicle manufacture to back the NRA and the 2nd.... Subaru backed the gays and made a name for themselves. Even I’d look into an ecoboost if Ford showed up and backed us. Seems Ford offered a Cabelas edition at one point.

Ram is producing a truck bed with built in gun boxes. Add a concealed carry spot by the driver and a fancy 2nd amendment badge.

GM and Toyota, can’t think of anything they’ve done.

These are big purchases that we all make...anyone have any research on who supports us?

Doubt they ever will. They look at it just like politicians, how can we make the MOST people happy within the demographic that is our main purchasers. They will sit on the fence and not pick a side on any and all hot topics that will create a storm of shit throwers.

On the call with investors they actually blamed under armour sales dropping due to them going to stores that sell their stuff cheaper like Kohl's. I would have never recommended someone go to Dicks to purchase a firearm at any point in time. Maybe a set of golf clubs, or a tennis racket maybe a weight set, but never a firearm.

I support about 95% of your statement.

I used to buy a few trail-cameras when they had real good holiday sales on them over the years. Never purchased anything else from them.

Today, all their spam emails & regular mail goes straight into the trash gets none of my attention.

I'm usually not a political kind of guy, but they really blew it with me when they jumped on the wrong wagon back in the spring of this year. I've been done with them since then.

Ford made an Eddie Bauer edition Explorer years ago, Eddie Bauer came out during that timeframe as anti hunting.... Just saying....

I don’t have the energy to dig right now, not that I’m busy, but really don’t want to get myself worked up about it. My point being, we are talking about something very small in this thread when I’m sure we contribute in other places in a big way. Vehicles are major purchases...just trying to make people think here mostly. I might of contributed $500 to Dicks over the past 5 years...meanwhile, I have no problem giving GM $500 a MONTH for a truck.

Let’s break that down a little bit.
GM is Union strong, their vote goes where? Which means what?

My money that I earn comes from a Union, I’m a union member. So I also support the other side by paying my dues. So I am double guilty...

I know, where am I going with all this? I have no idea! 😂 I need to go back to work and be blind, stop thinking, more working.

Teachers union in Ca were screaming for bushmasters head on a platter.... U til they realized their 401’s we’re heavi invested in bushmaster company....

Funny things happen when you stop looking at others and look into yourself. Eye opening experience that some never get to experience.

Hence my statements of supporting the guys you know support you. For example Midway USA, Larry Potterfields wife serves on I believe the treasury of the NRA. Sportsmans Guide openly supports and stands behind the NRA. Boom, wasn't very hard at all to shift my business from places like Cabelas and Bass Pro.
