I remember that. Shoot, that truck doesn't even have a bed to use. Lol. Sorry Dave. Just messing with you.Giles got a trade in offer on an 06 mega cab, salvage title, 4th tranny with 140k+ miles for $18k. The used truck market is crazy right now!! (Not throwing him under the bus, he posted that in his thread).
I think the point has been made to Joe. A Toyota will do the same for him in regards to resale if he plans on running it 3 yrs and rolling it. It will also do the towing he speaks of with no issues. It truly is worth looking into.
Back on track- my understanding is the Dodge automatic transmission issues have been rectified on the newer trucks. They don't get the mileage of the older ones but I couldn't offer real world numbers. I personally like the look of the new Chevy trucks. I still wouldn't own a Duramax. (Sorry Adam.) Too many horror stories of $3000 repair jobs to swap a sensor. For the same reasons, I wouldn't own a newer Ford. Pull the cab for any major work? Who's engineering screw up was that?
I'm scared of any of the post 2007 diesels. To meet emissions, they added too much restriction. To compensate they built these trucks with more torque and HP. In order to do so the tolerances are slimmer. They are pushing them harder. The 500,000 mile days are gone (in my eyes.)
