Drive through woodbury mid-week during rut and you will definitely see that there is indeed a crowding issue.
I hunt the hunters, Personally I am young and pretty good shape and feel like I can out work anyone when it comes to getting to the deepest hardest spot in the woods. The other successful philosophy I have heard but never tried is hunting swamp areas next to the road or close to the road. The idea is mature bucks learn to hide extremely close to heavily traveled areas on state land where people really do not think to hunt typically near a water source. It makes sense to me, I would guess majority of hunters on state land go about 100 yards into the woods and set up, so either a mile in or 10 foot off the road lol.
