Boys I hope I didn’t piss anyone off on this thread, I respect everyone on this site and it’s really the only place I feel comfortable debating such things for obvious reason. I’ve sort of been all over the place on this thread, some what as a troll or playing devils advocate or whatever, mainly because I like looking at all sides of argument.

I was union for nearly 40 years. If management could fire or let POS workers go without unions fighting for them then unions shops wouldn’t look so bad. Good workers wouldn’t have to swing wide to make up for being shorthanded, good workers wouldn’t see slobs getting paid the same rate for doing nothing and shit would get done and everyone would be happy. Union Stewards shouldn’t act as lawyers getting lowlifes off and back to work with back pay, AL and SL for them to start the POS work ethics all over again.
Thats my 2 on subject.
Jon is right though as I imagine ALL jobs have good and bad workers. It comes down to how a person was raised I guess. Pride and dedication counts to.

I am union and basically always have while working a trade. Having a family name helps the shitbags. For the pay and benefits, it is worth carrying those guys. You aren't going to change it so if you want the perks of higher pay, good insurance and good retirement, work harder. My kids are entering the workforce and I'd love to see them own their own businesses. But if they don't, I hope they find a union they like.
