Hey Dan... You joke about being skerred of the bear...Man and his dog killed in Florida by a black bear... Got to respect them... Makes me question my sanity how much I roam around in some thick out of the way spots putting out bait and cameras... Bump into one with a wild hair up his ass and you are history... And here in Jersey I can't carry... Well they just passed a concealed carry, but you gotta jump through hoops and spend $$$ to get it...

Yup, but still the number of black bear encounters to injury incident is extremely rare. It will however probably give us the needed push to get a bear season back in FL. Wouldn't think that there were many but they're thick. Just Eglin Air Force Base covers 640 square miles of land. Eglin borders our town.

You’re right….huge PIA but it’s doable….got mine. Pennsylvania will honor the NJ permit so you need to go to a police station in Pennsylvania and let them make a copy of your NJ permit and they’ll issue you a PA permit.

I'm driving many states with my resident state being FL. This is the one I use to see at a glance where CCW works or doesn't. I do not think Booboo, while gnawing in your shin bone is gonna care. Hit the link put in your state.

More people are killed by dogs.
Very true... However there's always the " What If Scenario ".... A few years back some Rutgers students were out for a hike in a largely wooded area which I've scouted many times... They bumped into the wrong bear and one of the students paid the ultimate price... They later found the bear standing over him eating him... Highly unlikely to have happened... But it did... Photo pictured was taken by victim just before he met his demise...
