Ouch, that's a dandy in the hands of the wrong fellow!! Sorry it turned out that way 5cent! At least you know you have some good one's around each year, maybe his daddy is still running around for ya!

I hate to see someone other than you having him by the horns, Adam. Just the way it goes sometimes.

I'll be completely honest. I am bummed, but I can not wait to see this deer in person!(going to taxi this weekend). From day one, I never expected to see this deer again so I never got my hopes up. His home territory is a good ways off from the pinch point I hunt. He was shot 1.75 miles as the crow flys, my stand to this guys, which puts him only 2miles following fence rows.

I was completely taken aback when he showed up 2 weeks early this year. The odds of him getting shot, or hit by a car up here out weighs him showing up for round 2 the next. There is just not enough cover, too much open space, and too many hunters. A deer this size on the hoof is hard to miss! I am bummed, but I know I was simply 45mins from killing this deer the day before Kelly did. I can live with that because I feel there will be another chance again some day. Just the way the cookie crumbles...

You said it Adam. I think every deer hunter will be presented with a buck of this caliber at some point in time.

Dude that is a true kick in the junk, but I know of other guys that have had similar experiences in the hunting of a giant. One thing I will say about you is your taking it a hell of a lot better than I would. Do you know this guy very well or anything about his passion?

I think anyone who hunts Ohio for 10+yrs. will atleast "see" a booner. Whether thats in their truck, the stand, or in a tractor is a different story.

You're crazy dude! lmao

Having lost a buck of this caliber to someone else, I know your pain. And then some knowing how I was! lmao

Never met the guy in my life Aholdren. In our area, skill only goes so far, luck is a huge factor. The land is flat, open, and there are few large wood tracts.

Jesse, you're crazy! If you are an avid hunter, and travel a decent amount in Ohio, I see no reason why someone will not lay eyes on a booner in their lifetime.

It sucks to have lost a deer like that to another hunter like everyone is saying, but its part of the hunting life. I hope you get a chance at a deer like that agian!
