Congrats again Ric.
Are you having your buck mounted or doing a European mount?
Chad, yes I am having my buck mounted but by my longtime buddy Stacey! Stacey has started doing some mounting of his own and does a very nice job. It will help him hone is new found craft to do mine but most importantly because he's a great friend. He also was apart of Henry every step of the way from being one of our hunt club members to sharing TC pics of him to the recovery and the caping of him I thought what better way to cap it all off than to have him mount him for me.
Stacey also mounted one other deer(Halloween buck) for me and did an outstanding job saving my cape and doing a great job bringing him back to life on my wall.
Thanks again everyone as I'm still riding high as is Karissa! What a feeling!
I've been going over and over in my head on what I saw through the video camera screen as it
wasn't recording...errr, what I would have liked to have seen different that might have led to a quick and humane harvesting of Karissa's deer and all I would probably change would be lowering her POI a few inches. Her left and right was great and although her POI was where the top 1/3 meets the middle 1/3 and her bolt was angling downward at about 30 degrees it might have hit the heart as well as the right lung had she been a tad lower. I'll prolly relive this dang scenario till I keel over but that's prolly what I'll tell Karissa at some point. Just hate seeing any deer suffer or not recovered and just wish I did have the tape to view and share with you but more importantly use it as a learning tool.
