Great thread Ric! I finally got some time to sit down and start getting caught up. Looks like you're having fun. I had to laugh when you added the "idiots seen" listing to the count. :smiley_crocodile: Funny stuff man!

I can't wait to see some trophy pics with you and the Gnome buck!! Awesome name!!

Been settled into a new set I just hung about 15 minutes ago. Haven't been over here across the creek since shed hunting. It's a tree I hunted about 3 times last year. I've been shooting some yardages and being a relatively clear open woods with maples and oaks I can shoot out to over 40 yards. There have been 4-5 shooter bucks spotted from the road off to the east about 400 yards over the past month so I know they frequent this spot. I've got standing corn on both sides of me within 100 yards. There is a nice steady wind out of the south which is ideal from this tree. I'll take some pics and post them tonight or tomorrow.
Goodluck to those who are out hunting this evening.

I heard some deer get up out of their beds at 6:05. I knew there are some fallen tree tops about 60 yards away around a bench up a small hollar. They eventually browsed their way right underneath me and filtered on out in front of me. A big doe,bb and a small doe. Took a couple pics of the big doe at 6:32. Pretty proud of myself using the wind noise and putting this stand up with 3 deer bedded so close by. Lol

View to the NE, direction at which the bedded deer came from. Across this small hollar is a house that sits about 80 to 100 yards away. I love to listen to him leaf blow all afternoon sometimes.lol

View to the SE, got shots over 40 if they stop

View straight down, the stand platform is right at 27 feet

Yeah, but she's buck bait in the future. I'm waiting till much cooler temps and the perfect opportunity to harvest a doe. I've got a few treestands much closer to easier access to which I can get her out without tainting my hunting area. Tracking and dragging out a deer in my only hunting area right now would do more harm than good for me right now.

I'm still surprised to see some on here getting bucks in hard horn running together. Maybe thats why I haven't located much buck activity yet. The bucks in my area, especially the mature ones, haven't had the motivation to start moving much yet. It will happen soon.

Thanks Ron! I'd like to see you start running a hunting log. You've had a few good hunts already as well. It is actually pretty fun taking pics and describing each hunt to let the others follow along. I'd even help post some pictures for ya.
