first catfish of the 2011 catfishing season

ive been goin nuts not being able to fish open water , well the lake was completely free of ice today so i went and done did me some catfirshin :)

bloody deer meat , from around the wounds , when i butcherd the deer i keep the clots and clotted meat to use for cat bait

That's a good idea. I'll have to start doing that for turtle jugs. I usually just pitch it in the can.

it work great for turtle lines cause its very hard to pull off , the blooddier the better and if you soak it in a attractant , it will hold the smell a long long time

Exactly. My Grandpa & I usually use old beef or something tough like that so it stays on the hook & smaller turtles don't strip your line. Can't wait to go out & set some jugs this summer.
 
I got a deep freeser full of spoild meet when I was away from home my freezer went. I have the freezer working again but no way can I eat it. It without a doubt has a great stink smell to it. Would be good for Yotes as well.
