First Yote ever.

That would be nice, rats are easy money. Looks like after Tuesday we get back into a warmer trend. That should get those coon up and moving after a couple days of sub zero or near zero lows. I'm pulling all my traps tomorrow, that bitter cold is not my cup of tea. I will reset some DPs after work on Wednesday and get in full coon mode for the warmer temps and their breeding season

Should be good choice Don. With the winter we've had, even rubbed coons will probably be up. Bet there wasn't as many taken being as harsh as it's been.

Well I got all my traps pulled today. With this bitter cold snap coming I am gonna come home and nestle in instead of walking 1 1/2-2 hours in it. Call me a puss, I will be a warm puss. Haha. I am gonna reset my coon traps Wednesday after work and possibly get some yote sets back out this coming weekend. I got all my traps cleaned, tuned up, and gone over, which a couple really needed it. Got my yote traps in some dirt inside a plastic tote and cleaned up all my conibears so they will be ready to go. Gonna try to hit the rats pretty hard once January comes to an end and rats still go on for another month. I'm also heading back over to my buddies place this weekend to do some more fleshing and stretching.

Puss

lmao

I set 3 yote snares today and still have 2 others out that will take about 30min to check those 2 sets. The 3 I put out today will only take me about 2 min. to check as they are close to the parking spot lol. If I get one in the morning I will trade ya for a little peach pie lmao. Will need that to thaw out ya know lol.

Keep those traps in good working order and keep on rollin Don.

I got my DPs all ready to go for tomorrow. Gonna get back out there and set what I can after work tomorrow and set the rest Thursday after work. Hopefully get my goal of 30 coon pelts to sell. I have caught 23 but turned one small one loose and threw one pelt out because of some big ole fungus on the back so that means I need 9 keepers by the end of the month. Then it's back to rat trapping come February with 10 rats to go to hit my goal of 40 rat pelts to sell. l have caught 31 but I had one rat have its back eaten out by a mink.

I caught one coon last night but as good a night as it was and the mini dry spell I have had i pulled 9 of my DPs and moved them to a new spot I just got permission to trap. This new property looks pretty good but with the rain last night I can't get to what looks like may be the best spot. But the creek will drop and there's still three weeks of coon trapping season yet. Plus where I did set today looks pretty good too with trails everywhere. We will see.

It amazes me u still have coon running down there. I haven't seen a coon track in high probability spots in probably 2 weeks

I had a very busy day today with my trapping endeavors. First off I went to my new property that I set 9 DPs on yesterday. I caught a nice coon on a dam between two ponds. Caught him trying to two fist it! Haha

I took half a dozen conibears with me this morning to set in the thousands of paths in this place. I set all those on paths that went between two ponds or a pond and the creek on the property. Hoping to catch some rats traveling back and forth or hopefully a mink making its rounds.
Then it was off to the other property where I had one conibear set for a rat that I have now named "fugger". Due to the fact that he keeps giving me the slip. And once again no "fugger" so I pulled the trap and am gonna give him a break until February. I still had three DPs set so I headed to check them where I found my second coon for the day. I didn't get a pic of him because he was pissed and plastered in mud.
Then for my next trapping related job I finished ten coon stretching boards I started the other day. I thought it would be really cool to stretch my coon hides on boards I had made instead of buying them. Just a kinda pride thing. ;) I also finished the belly wedges so now I'm all set.

It's like Christmas every day. You might get something you love, like for mom and dad. You might get something that is okay, like from your brother or sister. Or ya might not get anything at all, like from your tight wad ole aunt. Haha.

Thanks Red and Goets.
