Oh, I didn't know that! We stunned one once, then threw it in our outside burn barrel. That was different. We also came across a whole litter of them. They show their teeth even as youngsters! Darn kids wanted to keep them as pets. :smiley_depressive:
Nothing on the line this morning but I also had most of my traps pulled so I could move and reset them today. Got all my yote sets reset with fresh bait,lure, and red fox urine in the dirt hole sets and fresh lure and fox urine for my flat sets. I also set four DPs and four 1 1/2s for coon. I also set out a mink box.
Just got permission to trap a 150 acre place today. He has four lakes and said they are polluted with rats. Also has been seeing red and grey fox and said his neighbor has been seeing coyotes too. Gonna set a couple dozen traps there this weekend and try to make up some colony traps to catch some rats. Yeah baby!

Well I pulled all my traps Friday night so I could move to the new property I talked about. I figured since I was going to a fresh spot I should have fresh yote sets so I boiled and waxed them Friday night. I went out Saturday morning to set what rat traps I have and set my dog proofs and my 1 1/2" coil springs for coon. The lakes are polluted with rats so I went and bought another half dozen 110s and set those this morning when I went to walk my new line. I haven't put my yote sets out yet just because I don't have the time to check everything with the holidays coming up and trying to get all that done. I am off work from 12/22 to 1/2 so I plan to hit the yote sets hard then. My first run of my line was awesome though. I had 10 rats traps out and caught 7 rats. Plus I had 4 1 1/2s out and caught a grinner. And I caught a big boar coon in a DP. I had my first coon pull out of a DP since I got them but it was my own fault. I didn't have a stake so I cabled the DP off to a tree and the cable was too long and let him get a run for it and pull out of the trap. But all in all I was really pleased with the first run. I also had the back eaten of one of my rats so I'm pretty sure I got a mink checking my rat traps for me TOO. I got a little something for him. This brings my totals to...

Try a rubber surgical glove on it and that'll keep it semi dry for the most part.... Although it won't help when the 110's snap close on it lol....

Very good,. I am blown away you are still catching coon.... I havent seen any coon sign for quite some time....They are denned up to beat hell here...
I am honestly out of rat spots to trap.... I trapped one spot the first week, I have not had a rat trap in there for a month. I might put some traps in tomorrow....Maybe I will get lucky and some have moved in.. I highly doubt it though...Atleast I will feel like im trying if I put some rat traps in. ha
Thanks bud. The coons should really move this weekend with the rain and the warm up coming. I honestly think I could catch a boo coo of rats at this property. There are 4 lakes and a creek with rat sign in all of them.
