Checked camera I put out last Fri. and had a sow and three cubs on it... Went about a 1/2 mile down the road and baited another spot for Dan... Much easier to get into.. Tomorrow I'll go bait two more spots..Date on camera is off....

Hats off to you, Fletch. Running a bunch of bait sites for bears is real work. You all gonna have a good time. Hunting bears is fun.

Jamie... It is a lot of work, but right now it's taking my mind off of things at hand... It's a lot of fun checking cameras to see what's in the area.... Hey if one of these guys gets a bear I'll be happy as can be... Gonna try and have 8 spots baited by Sunday...
I'm predicting two dead bears, or at least two legit opportunities to kill a good NJ bear.

I hope.... That area that the pic of the sow and 3 cubs is at always has some big bears here's 2 from a couple years back... Pics were taken maybe 500 yds away...I'm predicting two dead bears, or at least two legit opportunities to kill a good NJ bear.

Freaking rain.... Been raining since early Sat. morning.... So yesterday I got soaked putting out about 100 lbs. of corn... Hey season is getting close so rain or no rain, it's gotta get done... New spot I set up for Dan got hit by a bear as camera was turned down... Bear must of went straight for camera as I got no pics of him... It dawned on me last night as to why.... Stupid me after changing the SD card I dumped half a bottle of anise on a limb near camera... So let's see what happens this time... Still raining today, so I'll bake a few cakes to use as bait next week..

Popcorn anyone??? Just made some popcorn to add to the mix... Keeping busy is keeping my mind off of things...
Just straight popcorn or do you add anything to it? Any local movie theaters around you can get it from? Fuel is expensive...hmmm...thinking on the keyboard here.

KFC used cooking oil is good over top of the bait. They track it for a long ways.

I’m bringing our bacon grease jar and some freezer burnt ribs and any other stuff that needs to get out of the freezer

Well next Sat. Jon and Dan will be in New Jersey with high hopes of harvesting a black bear...Today I checked a few cameras and re-baited. Also started 2 new spots further North and West of the others. Was happy to see that all the cameras checked had bears on them, including one I just started this Wed. for Dan.. No monsters but bears I'm sure either Jon or Dan would be happy with... Can't wait to get them out in the woods... Here's a few pics...

Your gonna shake if you shoot one down in the hell hole... You better eat your Wheaties as it's straight up from down there...
Good thing is all the pics were taken during the day... Bears are very nocturnal...
If you think it's gonna be tough, just take Jon's shoes from him. He works better without them.
