Fletch's 2025 Bear Trail Cam Pics.....

That one is still hanging out under the camera... Might be a hot spot this fall... I have a 50 lb bag of dog food the dog don't like... So I'll take that in tomorrow....

My brain and experience doesn't like the idea of making Bear attracted to dog food. Just a thought if this is in a area with housing close. I haven't been to these places to know if that would create a problem or not, so just throwing it out there.

As you and I both know, once a bear thinks something is food, it doesn't stop until it is gone. Just sharing this so others might learn. Be like putting out cat food, lol. Both things that could be found in almost every neighborhood. Not an issue if out in no mans land, not a great idea for a place like my house. Little 6.5 acre lot with animals out everywhere.

Well yet another pic last night, which is pic 100.. So I have to get a new cam in there tomorrow.. Turns out this spot must have a high population of bears for the amount of pics I've gotten in a couple days... As we get closer to the season I'll move the bait and cameras deeper into this woods... Going in this direction the woods stretch for miles...

Ok .. Went in today and swapped out the cameras... I put a Bushnell in another tree... I also put it up higher using a section of ladder sticks... While up there adjusting the camera I hear walking... Yup... Here comes yogi...So I got down and let my presence known... He stopped and slowly walked away... He was probably around 250 lbs .... So let's see what happens...

Very cool! Yesterday you got that pic of one at noon. Is that normal that they move all day or is it just because it’s mating season?
Chances of mid day pics are slim... Alot of their movement has to do with two things: Food and like you said mating season...In the spring they are moving around for food and in the fall they are up and about getting their food and calories stored up for their winter nap... But like any animal you never know when you'll see them... Hunting them if having to decide whether to hunt mornings or afternoons I'll pick afternoons into the evening...
