Fluteman's Trail Camera Fotos

I know but only because you reminded me. I'll let the others guess. Great pics by the way Greg! You and Kate have alot of shooters to choose from.

And then this guy. Anyone care to take a guess who he is, or does anyone even remember my puny bucks from years past. lol

Here are his pictures from last year and the year before. If you can't tell by now, it is Claw; my fourth year of pictures and video of him. He really hit a downhill slope this year, and I can't believe how much of an impact it has made antler wise. The first year I got video of him, I estimated him to be at the very least a 3.5 year old deer, so what would put him at 6.5+ now.

Very cool to be able to have such a long track record with a deer. If given the chance I would probably still shoot, with having a history and pictures to go with him.

Maybe so, or maybe the drought summer has him smaller than where he would have been on a wet year? I don't know. He is still a trophy either way.

Possibly Phil, but I believe this year he is at least 6.5 years old. I'm sure this dry summer didn't help antler growth at all though.

Man I hope you connect on Claw. No doubt a trophy buck despite losing a few inches from where he was in 2011. Taking a buck like that, at 6.5 years old, is definitely wall worthy.

Personally I don't think it has that much of an impact. If they don't get the water they need from vegetation they'll have to visit a creek more often. If this was Arizona or New Mexico I might agree that it would have an impact. But here in ohio we have creeks and water everywhere.

Well, I haven't posted any pictures lately for several reasons. One, I pulled my cameras from the spots they have been all summer due to getting extra attention, and two, moved them to other areas to try and locate some different deer. I've got One camera set up on a bean field edge where I sat a groundblind. It's showing deer activity every evening, as the beans were planted in the middle of July, and are still growing. A second camera is on an oak flat that I expect to be spectacular come late October into November, and a third is just down the hill from it, on a loggin road with loads of buck sign.

My last camera has been set up on the edge of a bean field facing a low hanging oak branch; a place where a large community (ground) scrape shows up every year. Just this week, with the cooler temperatures moving through, I'm starting to get some good pictures, including the buck below. The series before this picture he had his nose in the branch and raking his antlers in it. Looking forward to the pictures I get from this camera.

I am rather pleased with how this guy looks since the velvet is gone. I'm guessing he is a tad bit bigger than Kate's deer last year, at around 132-135", But what do you all think. He's got good potential, and I suppose it will have to be a last minute decision as to weather I would shoot him if he passes by.

Good looking deer man! I lost the text due to updating my phone last night, so I didn't get much chance to look at it when you text'd me last night. I'd say you are right on with your estimate. He has a 140ish frame, but the shorter brows and lack of 40" mass will keep him from that mark. He'll easily be +/- 135" by a couple inches. Looks like a 3.5 year old to me as he still has a thin face...

He looks like a great buck to me, Greg. Hopefully you get some more pics with other angles... Right now I'm estimating him to score high-120s to low-130s. He's lacking in the mass department... On 8 pointers, that last mass measurement (H4) usually kills the average, since it's the halfway point between the G3 and the end of the beam. You can see in that pic his beams are pretty spindly out toward the tips. He might have less than 30" of mass in total.

Either shoot him this year or watch him turn into something special next year... either way it's a win-win.

I figured he was a 3.5 also Jesse, and I agree, his brows and mass are the killers on him. I see how much Stickers blew up from last year to this year, and I see the same kind of potential in him, that's why it will be tough to shoot.

Forgot to mention, We are still getting pics of BT, Cuz, and Splits, but since they aren't from my camera, I'm not going to post them.

Man that's a beautiful buck. I'd think high 130's just from glancing at him. He looks to be pretty wide, but its hard to tell from that pic.

You'd look great posing with him in front of you in the TOO bowhunting contest thread. Just sayin'!

I hope the very best for you and Kate this season. Goodluck
