FML... Bad shot advice

Well, I finally get a shot on a deer, and it didn't land where I wanted. It hit her in the spine, and her back legs dropped out from under her.

I'm sure it's going to be fatal, but how long should I wait before I approach her?

She's laying at the bottom of the hill struggling, but isn't getting far....

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Approach her from the direction you don’t want her to go, she may move as you get close, it won’t be going too far but it’ll help in the drag also.... But Chads correct, put her outta her misery....

THAT IS AWESOME! Congrats on your kill! Real high beats a little high on a shot like that. Don't feel bad, (it's happened to many of us) you could be chasing her into the next zip code and that sucks bad!

Awesome man! Thanks for posting so others could help you do the right thing. It’s all a learning curve and you just learned something. Congratulations! The first is always the most memorable!!! Now let’s see her with that big old smile! You gotta be cheesy
