Ate like crap all spring. I have reasons /excuses but I'm fasting now and it's gonna be at least a 40ish if not longer. Numbers on the scale and how i feel explains it all.
Where do you get the hot mustard sardines? From September 2024 through about March 2025, I fasted for 72 hours once per month. This was a great reset and, paired with a keto diet approach, really helped me shed the unhealthy fat around my mid-section. I went from 205-210 down to my current weight, floating between 170 and 175. Haven't been this lean since right after college. I still try to fast once per month, however the 72-hour timeframe is a little much for me now. I've found that 24-36 hours now feels like enough to accomplish my goal... which is to reset my gut and my brain.
I don't know if it's a "thing" or not, but I feel like my metabolism is higher now than it was a year ago. I find myself cheating on junk food more often now, and the consequences are usually pretty minimal. The only thing that really messes me up is processed grains and bread. When I hammer-down on some pizza, I get pretty bloated and shitty-feeling.
Some of my go-to foods:
Golden Flake pork rinds (Found at most Dollar General stores)
Canned chicken
Canned tuna
Sardines (hot mustard or buffalo flavored)
Venison Chorizo, Eggs, Sour Cream, and Hot Sauce (one of my favorite meals)
Steak / Burger / Beef in general
Cottage Cheese
Vanilla Greek Yogurt and Blueberries (Oikos Triple Zero is my favorite)
Bacon and cheese Omelets
Frozen Shrimp
Sweet Potatoes
Pickled Olives
Finally... I have a sweet tooth, like many others I'm sure. One thing that helps me get through sugar cravings is Redi-Whip whipped cream. Per volume, it's very low in sugar and carbs. Yet it tastes sweet enough to satisfy some cravings. Throw it on some yogurt and berries and you have something damn-near as good as ice cream.

Honestly I don’t remember. I think I might’ve found them at a local Bassetts Market.Where do you get the hot mustard sardines?
I found Sardines in oil plus hot green peppers at Walmart and they were possibly my new favorite. Those and one of the snack rolls of ritz crackers (not the best i know, anyone got a suggestion? ) are a great meal and occasionally I'll add a jalapeño Pickled egg or two.
