Food, what are you eating?

I’m almost 24 hours into a fast and sipping bourbon and beer tonight before bed. Could go sideways 😆

I'm on Hour 22 of what will be a minimum 36 hour fast to kick off my 2026 reset. The goal is to get back to 215 or less by turkey season. I've come to grips with my age and the issues it brings over the past few weeks. I can't live another 10 years with the same yo-yo dieting I've done the last 10. I should probably quit drinking, but I haven't found the gumption to slay that dragon.

This is basically where I am. My diabetes numbers are still good but I have gained half my weight back. Likely mostly to drinking. I am cutting back on the beers and food intake. I also got back on the shot for inflammation. I was on it for 3 months back when this journey started the first time. Inflammation was basically gone then and slowly come back. We will see how long I stay on it this time.

Hour 42 here, and my stomach is TALKING to me. It's time for a snack. I have a meeting at 4P and there's no way I can sit in a quiet room with my stomach doing what it's doing right now :ROFLMAO:

Solid start to the rest. Per my usual protocol, I'll fast for a minimum of 24 hours every Sunday to Monday, then eat only between 12-8P every day, with a tighter schedule if I can pull it off. In reality, I only eat between 2 and 8 a lot of the time, so the issue is not my fasting; it's being a glutton when I come off of it.
 
I had 2 bacon double cheeseburgers from BK, no bun or condiments, just 4 patties with cheese and pickles. Washed it down with a Coke Zero and felt like a champ. I do think the Wendy's Jr. Bacon is a better choice because they'll wrap it in lettuce and their mayo isn't terrible ingredient wise. I love my ketchup, but all fast food places have HFC in it. I'll be at a big lunch meeting tomorrow, thankfully at a place that has great salads and breakfast all day, so eating clean will be easy.

Arby’s has a 1lb roast beef sandwich. If I’m in a position that fast food is the only option, I’ll order one and toss the bread. Definitely a better option like yours. When I pulled in to Salem to hunt it was later and that’s what I got. Hit the spot.
 
I did 18 hours again earlier today and broke ot with 3 hard boiled eggs again. Today was worse hunger wise than yesterday. Dinner was steak and eggs. Costco had some super thin steaks (think roast beef) that we fried up in butter super fast and hot. Freaking delicious! Splash of washyoursister, garlic powder and splash of Texas Pete extra hot
 
Wife made a huge amount of pork and sauerkraut for new years. We are still eating on it. Its still tasty. The cabbage has unfortunate effects though.

Have also gone off on a Sichuan chinese food kick. Found a new restaurant off Bethel Rd that just slays it with the spice.

Im probably somewhere in the 260-265 range. Should be down closer to 210. I don't think I'll see anything south of 230 until Im in a pine box tho.
 
We had some raw veggies and some charcuterie tonight. Here's the baby of the family smashing hot pepper summer sausage with smoked gouda and pickle sammich. Kaydence is my fruit and veggie kid. Even at 13, she still eats pretty clean. Kenna is the garbage eater, but she's got the best physique of all the girls, so she's got my metabolism. Kami loves anything made of meat. When the wife and are being disciplined, this is a common "browsing" meal for us. Veggies, cheese, meat, pickles. Hard to beat!
