Those burls are carved into bowls. When cut off the tree properly it will not harm or kill the tree. My neighbor has carved several and they are very nice!

Sorry to highjack your thread, Brian. I checked the prices on maple burl. There's gotta be a couple grand in that huge burl where I found the set LOL.
No problem Chad i was curious also and i think their is a show on tv where they collect burls from trees and make good money on them.
Might have to check into that.

Headed to the farm after work and got some time in the big field before the rain hit, plus Ric was coming up to hang out for awhile and get one of his deer scored at my buddy's shop.
After about 45 mins in i came across a set of sheds laying by a small tree, on my way back on my next pass found a nice single shed laying by another tree, if you look in the pic of the single you can see where the other two were laying just behind it.
That is the first time i have ever found 3 that close together,i have seen bucks bed down during season around these small trees so figured they must have been bedded there when they shed.
Started to rain and headed back to the barn when Ric pulled in so took a pic of him holding some bone.lol
Still have alot of field to cover when i get time and need to hit the other farm a little better before wrapping up.
Had a good day and some good laughs hangin out with Ric.

Ric the few i found in the woods are darker but of the ones i find in the crp are mostly white or lighter color.
They are out there bedding all the time and in the sun so just seems like alot of those bucks have the lighter colored racks.
