I froze butter and bread for the first time ever today. This thing is 90% red meat. Got me thinking about other frozen food items I should consider. There's chicken and beef broth in there too, along with plenty of veggies, couple pizzas, and chicken nuggets.

Do you have a backup power supply if you lose power? Or enough salt to cure the red meat?
Smoke some, can some. Lots of options.

The first thing I would do if I lost power for long term would be to tip that freezer on its back. That way all your cold air doesn’t escape when you open the door. That’s why I prefer deep freezers.

Generator is my option at the moment. I'm considering a natural gas backup generator, but don't see the free $ being there for a while.
