FS First sheds of the year a MATCH!

Thanks guys! I decided to make this thread my shed thread for 2012. I went out for an hour and a half and found this one within the first 5 min. Didn't find anything else the rest of the trip but I got plenty of exercise.lol

Well me and both girls this time walked at least 4 miles this afternoon along the perimeter of some huge fields with lots of draws and fingers. Didn't jump a single deer but saw lots of deer tracks though. didn't find any sheds but we all got plenty of exercise and I heard alot of "when are we going back to the truck"! lol

This makes a total of about 10 miles for me so far with 3 fresh sheds and two old chewed up ones.

Good deal Ric! Geoffrey and I put on some miles this afternoon as well. He found three golf balls and a turkey feather. I found my sunglasses I lost last fall. Unbelievable. Prescription Oakley's laying in the middle of the woods. What is most amazing is the fact i never walked in that area when I lost them. Flood waters must have carried them back to where they were laying when it receded. No sheds, but have myself a backup pair of prescription sunglasses now. Sheds zero. Phil- +$250-300. Good day indeed.

Hey that is a great day Phil! Don't be surprised if a squirrel or coon carried your glasses to where you found them TOO!lol

I just got back at 3 this afternoon from a quick 45 minute walk on a south facing hillside along some weed fields with honeysuckle and cedars aplenty. Walked about 3/4's of a mile zig zagging along well used trails intertwining....found zilch but still might be too early for my area still.

I walked for about an hour and a half this afternoon and found #4 and #5 freshy's (6&7 overall)

The larger one will prolly score in the low 60's(64 maybe)

I think they just fall out of your ass sometimes!!! :smiley_chinrub:

Lmao! My wife says I'm to horny.....as I have both types of racks always on my mind!lol

So far this shed season its starting off alot better than it did last season. I didn't find my first(a year old one) till practically March 1st. I've walked about 12 miles so far and have many more to walk.

Nice start to the shed hunting season Ric! You are on fire! Planning on trying again this weekend, but might have to man the wheel of a plow truck instead. Wait and see I guess.

I walked another 3.5-4 miles today and found nada! Was walking for about 4.5 hours hitting field edges, fingers and a few blocks of timber. Found a dead coon in a tree that I assume someone hung there in a sapling. I took a pic and will post it later.

Nice Finds Ric.... Glad to see you getting some (Sheds)..... Coon Looks Great TOO! I like to see them like that! Got 2 in my snares the other day after the high winds but I was sure to let them loose....:smiley_crocodile:

Now ya got me going shed hunting today.......

I had a great afternoon today! Walked about 2 miles in 1.5 hours and toward the end of my day I found a set in the same field I killed "Splits" in. He's prolly an offspring TOO! Here's the first one I found:

I'm pumped that a buck that I never knew existed seemed to move in. Hopefully with Splits out of the picture, he might take residents and make this part of the farm his home!!!:pickle:
