Thanks guys! It was pure luck I happened to catch a glimpse of it as I was driving by. It was probably the weirdest unlikely place anyone could expect to find one. Because of a piece of skull was on the peticle I figure the buck forced the shed off on the post. I'm lucky that no one else saw it since spring due to the heavy traffic along that road.
Went out looking around alittle today and found nothing. It's a partially picked cornfield with lots of corn on the ground. I set up a camera that's about 10-12 foot off the ground to keep any potential POS's from stealing it. It's covering a great traveling route between standing corn and 15-20 rows of boundary picked corn. Hope to see what made it through and who's packing and who's not.
Sorry no sheds found by me but its not due to the lack of trying. It appears again that in my area the majority of bucks are still carrying. Today my oldest daughter and I hit a great honeyhole for sheds with plenty of ear corn laying around and tracks and scat everywhere. We stayed out of the timber and inside edges though as we dont want to booger it up. I'll hit it again in a few weeks. Here is a pic of my daughter walking the bottom of this picked cornfield.
Just got home from work about 30 minutes ago and finally saw my first buck in nearly a year on my way home in the early mornings. Just wanted to document it on this thread. I passed him in the city of Loveland standing in a clearing along the Little Miami River at 3:15 this morning. He had both sides and was a couple inches past the ears and the beams angled up and had nice curl to them. He was at least an 8 but I think he was a 10 point that was easily in the 135-140" range. Very nice tine length as well.
Like I said earlier, I think the bucks down here seem to drop later for some reason. Prolly wont shed till the new growth pushes them off! Lol
Ron hit pay dirt this evening after work. Found a nice set laying within 10 yards of each other. Couldn't get a picture of them together as they laid but took individual pics.
Congrats on numbers 4 & 5!
I've turned down several ops in going out just because in my area they're still carrying pretty much. Might go out tomorrow for a little bit.
