Ric and I went out for an hour after work. I found this horn, it laid there for a year, but in great shape. Here is the ATL pic. #25.

Nice ATL pic Ron! Year old shed and a fresh turd. Perfect!

You mentioned the big sheds in the man cave. Now you are obligated to post your man cave shed pics. lmao

You guys have me wanting to go out and find a few, but I got to be honest I have only found sheds when I am shroomin and they are usually dead heads. I'm goin out tomorrow if the snow is gone. I've got over 500 acres of woods to hunt sheds, would it be better to hunt the edges or the woods?

Usually, the thickest areas are best, any honeysuckle, greenbrier's, and or locust thickets? I would start there, then food sources, if no AG fields are available. Search the hardwood ridges. Good luck, OS.

Nice find! Congrats Dennis.

Last year I found a "decent" one. The "good" one I found this year has me scratching my head. I am wondering if these aren't off same buck. Found on same property in his travel corridors. Maybe 200-400yds apart one year apart. What are the thoughts of our resident shedheads?

Remove the last pic Phil, it makes the small one looks as big as the big one, I'd say yes 90% the second pic has the exact curves even out to the tip if its not he is a very close relative, but myself would say yes

Well, Phil in my unprofessional opinion. I think those are two different bucks. Same gene pool, but related to each other some way. My reasoning is, that the pedical on the larger horn has a odd shape" not perfectly round". The slightly smaller horns pedical is rounder in shape. Usually the pedicals stay somewhat the same in shape each year, only growing in circumference. Still, awesome deer to have on your hunting area. Congrats.

If they were closer together you could see each tine put on 1-2" other than the brow tine which appeared to lose .5-1". Weird. Both have the shorter g-2. This year's find the tines seem to tilt forward a bit compared to last year they went basically straight up. I really don't know. Last year his right said had been broken off at the end of the g3. Appeared to have been broken in velvet.

I hear Ric/Ron speak of pedicles which match up. I see similarities, but I am not seeing exact here. Each has a slight flat spot in similar location. I could see if they had something really unique. Otherwise, I really don't know "how" similar they should look.

See I thought the same thing but its a year later with a lot more mass, and in pic 2 the antler v/s the pedicle angle is a little different I don't know how much they change due to antler size growing every year

Me neither. I just haven't been in the game long enough to have a good knowledge or opinion on this subject. I do know we have a gnarly buck we have been trying to remove from the gene pool for the last 2 years. He showed up last year with a double main beam. This year it did not have the double main beam but rather this side had what appeared to be a twist in it. (Hard to explain without pictures and these pictures are not getting posted.) A guy we hunt with sometimes was shown the pictures. He had a 5yr history with the deer. Apparently the buck lived on his farm the first 5 years of his life. He said that side is funky and a little different every year. He should be 8 this upcoming season. I cannot wait to see how it looks this year. He is an absolute tank and number one on the hit list. Score won't impress, but he is an awesome buck.

The pic's Ric put up in post 442 where the base had the exact same 2 holes and notches is what really showed me how close the pedicles are.

Yeah good point, just wasn't sure how much they change, when one has a deep break off do they always or will that cause the pedicle to be oblong
