Lol Mike!

Ron found and old chewed up stub of a shed and a set of rattling antlers today. He thinks the rattling horns are some friends of ours.

I pulled 4 of my 5 treestands today. It feels good to get that done before this new winter storm system moves in this weekend....UGH!

I walked around a standing beanfield that I hadn't hit yet this year and was elated to spot a nice pedicle sticking straight up out of a bare spot amongst the beans. Fist pumped and made my way over to it. Took a couple pics of this 59" 4 point side and scanned the area for its mate. I'll hit the woods around it after this new snow we're suppose to get melts.

A few ATL pics

Glad you two made the trip! You're welcome to come back anytime! I've got an awful lot of land to wander around on around here, and we aren't likely to do it without some company to tag along with. Thanks for coming over, better luck next time!

Congrats Ron, beautiful match! Ric, that picture screams sheds man! Take cedars, grass and a south facing hillside and you are likely to stumble upon a shed at any second.

No doubt about it. I like Ron/Ric's use of the word "sheddy". Cracks me up but I know what they are talking about. Beautiful matched set Ron. Congrats!

Thanks fellas!
Man, that land you have access to looks like shed heaven, Brock. It's only a matter of those bucks dropping. You'll have sheds in hand, buddy. Good luck.

Not much to report. Haven't found any sheds the last 3-4 long walks. Pulled a card after better than a week soak and found a small newbie 8 point had came thru still packing both sides. I imagine the low buck numbers and still carrying them are my two biggest obstacles right now. I'm still getting some exercise so that's a plus...:smiley_bril:

Pic of the small buck

Took a pic of a huge two trunked Pin Oak yesterday. I've walked by it the last several years and figured I'd snap a pic just to share. I hung my hat on it for reference in size. It's one big sumbitch!

Tree pic

I found a small deadhead last year and hung it in a tree overlooking a steep creek bottom after I carried the stinking thing around awhile. I passed by it again a year later the other day and saw it was still there. Just a tiny little chew mark was on it. I thought that was pretty cool being that it was still there cuz this place gets hunted pretty hard.

Haven't taped it Gordo but I might see how many times I can wrap my arms around it sometime. Hope it don't have a knot hole and someone sees me doing this....:smiley_crocodile:

What a disappointing shed hunting weekend. I spent 13 hours and 10 miles of walking and netted only one old shed. I still think most bucks in my area are still carrying horns. I can't complain, it's been a good season thus far. Plus, I do need the exercise. Lol.
