I recently got a vintage S&W model 36, chief’s special. Shot today and had multiple light primer strikes. Sometimes it would fire all 5, but most of the time it would not.

Anyone in SW Ohio that can help?

The good smiths i knew have passed on. I would go into your local shops and ask them for references. Don't go to big gun stores stick to the smaller ones especially ones dealing in expensive or older firearms. They will know someone . Best of luck to you hope you get it straightened out!

Ill also add that you could get a spring kit pretty reasonable from s&w and watch a couple youtube videos and most likely tackle it yourself. Be worth a shot to try an see if it fixes it

I would ask around and talk to local dealers picking their brains for qualified gunsmiths. Try guys behind the counters at Becks Hardware in Goshen, Rural King and Vance’s in Lebanon area for starters.

@JOHNROHIO might know someone or have a suggestion.

I would CALL places and ask for suggestions. Springboro Shooting Sports would be a good call, but they keep limited hours. Dad's Guns and Golf Carts just north of Lebanon used to have a guy in-house, but i haven't used him in years. A place to call for a referral might be Country Attic in South Lebanon
