If you can climb hills, big freaking hills it is a lot of fun. I would not go there to shoot a deer but for hogs, hell yea!! Why not? If I went to a butcher shop I would pay more and it is so much fun. I had Hogs running around me but I did put it for this big boy. Average weight is around 200 pounds but this one was 500+ and last time I was there I shot a 650+ plus he that was third in the country and in the record book for his tusk length. And no it is not a small pen, it is 100's upon 100's of acres. I was sucking wind climbing those hills.

As I said I would not hunt deer but Hogs, yupper!!!!! :smiley_bbq:

Ok guys what would you all think would be a reasonable price per hunter or pig? I might try to do some looking around and see if we could get a group (TOO) discount. I have some spare time as I can't work for a few more weeks.

Thoughts?

(Sorry about the thread drift but doing this is on my list and I love pork)

Thanks Guys. I always use my Bow but this time due to time and it was so cold I used a 12 GA. that I actually traded CJD for one my guns.

I went to the Double D Ranch in McArthur, OH. I think a "typical" Boar hunt is around $450, this one was $650.00 and 500 pounds++++ If you want something that big you need to call in advance so Dannie can locate one. It is a lot of fun knowing your going to be bringing meat home for the family. Better then going to a butcher shop and just buying a hog, plus it is leaner and healthier for you.

Hey Big Bro ( CJD ) thanks for posting those other pictures. Guys, that one was 650 pounds +++ and is third in the country in the record books for his tusk length. That one was one shot with my bow. :smiley_bbq:

Here is the link to Double D Ranch if any of yens want some pork!!!

My farm is not far from this place and every once in a while we get a big hog on a trail cam. I am pretty sure they are from this place . We only see them so camera at night one of these days I'll find one in the daytime and go boom. I have a friend who went to one of these places and shot a hog with his pistol, it was pretty big and ran into the brush . He had to get down on his hands and knees and crawl to find it , he came nose to nose with it and shot it. While dragging it out he found the first one he shot! 500 apiece( grin) they are on opposite walls grinning at each other.

There are two places pretty close to each other Mooosie so I am not surprised you see some. If I had to bet / guess I would say the ones that get out are from the other place............but that's just a guess. Hope you get one.

On a side note I can't wait to get home and pick him up from the butcher!!!!!! :pickle: :smiley_cooking:

I am glad for you, the ones we get in camera are Russian boars so I am pretty sure they came from one of those places

Without a doubt I am 100% sure you are correct. Hope you get to nail one, they are great eating plus the bonus of not having to pay for one. They are a blast to hunt and can be pretty mean and will charge you if you wound one.
