My buddy encountered this doe last night, but couldn't get a shot on her. I may head to the farm this afternoon and try to put her down. Big bodied, but she's gonna have a long winter if that leg is done for.

I must be getting soft. Jada pair of yearlings at 110-120yds. Let them walk. Then another pair in bow range at 30yds. Prime opportunity to put 20-25lbs of tender meat in the freezer. I couldn't do it. Just too small. Learning more about myself today. Let the herd rebound trumps meat in the freezer. Especially with FB pics seeing nobody else is holding off. Guess I'm trying to lead by example? Or I'm an idiot? Or am an idiot for trying to lead by example. 😁

The difference is you own that property and care. People who lease try to get their money’s worth. You will have your property for as long as you keep it. Manage it how you see fit and not by what others do. I pass deer on my property a lot, them 3-4 yr olds that need another year are hardly ever seen the next year but some still get the pass. I know if I kill it, it has zero chance of surviving. Your neighbor might kill it but deer have been beating me since I’ve bought a license.

27* w/ a extremely mild NE wind. I got in early with no issue setting up my 'Lone Wolf Alpha Stand', in between thick pine bedding to the E-NE and food right behind me, a picked cornfield. Seen four antlerless deer already that cut across the cornfield from the South, right along the wooded finger and the field edge heading North. Several bunnies and squirrels currently. I expect deer action to pick up more towards the later afternoon hours and into the evening. Very few shots heard in the far off distance, that's it.

I'm in for another all day sit looking for a good buck. :)

Good luck to anyone huntin today!

Good luck, just curious, what is your gun hangin on?

Thanks!

My rifle sling, which is 500 green paracord that I prefer over anything else for this shotgun and have used for over two decades, w/ a knotted tied loop in the middle, a slip knot at each end and currently hanging on a heavy duty bow hanger while up 25' into the tree. Never has this method failed me. It's cheap and I can easily slip it off in a fraction of a second.
