There are two things I'm in charge of bringing for Thanksgiving every year. The turkey and sweet potato casserole.
Sweet potato casserole with brown sugar crumbles and toasted marshmallow topping.

I don't know if I should even attempt to set the alarm in the morning to hunt after eating that much food......

Daughter and SIL showed up today, deep fried turkey was on the menu. Cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole, Brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce, and rolls...
Today was the annual Thanksgiving feed for my side of the family. I volunteered to do a variety of wild game, so I smoked a half a backstrap from my buck that was dry rubbed with a coffee/chili rub and a half a backstrap from K's doe that was marinated in mustard. I smoked the big ends of the turkey breasts that I cut the nuggets from and I stuffed two canada goose breasts with cream cheese and jalapenos, wrapped in bacon, then smoked to perfection. Everything was good, but K's deer and the nuggets were the fan favs. The goose was the most surprising for people as most who tried it were amazed at how good it was. It was a real privilege to cook a variety of game meat for my family and I look forward to trying it again next year!
