It is feed for cows (mostly). They use the whole plant and not just the ears. They cut the plant up and it actually ferments and is a great source of food for grain/cattle farmers.

What does it mean when half the corn in the fields start breaking over? Lol. Cause that's what the corn looks like in champaign county.

Could be a bunch of things. Wind, bad variety with a weak stalk and heavy ears (which could actually be good), or just a REALLY dry stalk with heavy, high ears. Coons out the yang???

I am betting the corn by me won't be down until after the rut, maybe even til Thanksgiving in some spots.
