Great looking dog. We are looking for a new dog, and I've talked the wife into a lab so that I can get into bird hunting now that we live in Ohio.

Would you have the information for the farm where you got her available? We won't be ready until February or so, so hopefully they have another litter by then.

My daughter is pretty good natured and always happy. We spent the majority of the day outside today and LuLu followed K around most of the time. I heard a joyous laughter from my daughter today when they were playing that I have never heard. They're snuggled up on the couch now. Great acquisition for the family.

This put a smile on my face. Glad to hear it Jesse.

They said they'd have another litter at the end of the year. Look up "Rocking R Ranch" in Quaker City, OH.

For the life of me I can't find the "dog gone good dog" thread anywhere, so I will update this. I admittedly have not dedicated much time to LuLu but she is coming along great. We ended up with a seeing eye dog for our aging buddy, and a veteran companion to teach our pup the ropes. They have formed quite the bond. She has not been locked up in a cage or kennel for well over a month, but rarely strays from eye sight of Remi. She responds very well to positive reinforcement and so far, has avoided any use of an electronic collar. I finally started working on her in the last 10 days and her temperament is exceptional IMO. Her retrieve instinct is poor right now, but she's very well behaved (other than some chewing) and I can live with that since she's really just a house dog. I hunted with a long time friend yesterday who has an English male that was making river retrieves at 15 months and there's a litter in the future that will give him pick of female and me the male, which I'd then de-nut as early as possible. We'd then spilt proceeds of the litter and I'd have LuLu spayed. Very excited about her future and the prospects of "home brewing" my next male. Remi will be 10 in July and is 90% blind. Despite his good physical condition, I have some tough choices to make somewhere down the line regarding his blindness and overall quality of life. Helps to know he's invested a lot on LuLu by taking her in like he has and his influence will live on through her and any pups she may throw.

Used my gift card to get her this blind and she's been in here over an hour. Probably spend most hunts like this. LOL

I took her on her first hunt on New Years Day and she did great. I just wanted to expose her to the process and see how she'd listen. She laid in the blind all morning and never broke from it. She was getting cold around 9:30, so we went for a walk and had some birds start working, so I had to run back to our spot. She followed and didn't hesitate when I said "Lulu Blind!". I still can't get her to retrieve, but she'll sit and hold a duck wing in her mouth for 5 minutes, so it could be worse. I've spent a total of 2 hours of legit training with her and the things we've focused on, she's picked up perfectly. The retrieving training commences when the UPS man drops off some aids and the e-collar tomorrow...
