From some old maps I discovered it used to sit on a neighbors property up until 1901 or thereabouts. It has “marriage marks” carved into some of the logs so they could reassemble it easier. One notch for the bottom log, 2 notches for the second log and so forth. The South facing logs got an “S”…or Z carved into them and West got an “X”. I also found a lot of newspapers behind the wallpaper dated 1903. From there I went to Ancestry.com to find the family of the original property owners. The grand daughter still lived across the road, she’s past on now. From what I can piece together, her grandfather started a family in 1871 so I’m guessing it’s at least that old. They moved it when the family of 13 out grew it.Cabin looks awesome! Very rewarding project. Have you been able to get an idea of when it was built originally? Be very interesting to see
