Got a lot to go but we will get there. We did normal stuff on the kids part, the rest of the house will get some cooler stuff....

The block wall area inside the outside walls. Is that not what that is?What shelter do you speak of?
Sorry no explanation of pics. That's a hallway/entrance where my kid is standing by the block. Kids part is an old two car garage and was wood walls. I built every wall inside the new parts out of block closets, bath, kitchen bedroom and pantry. I forgot a footer under the office area (the hardwood part) so a small bath got light wood frame and drywall. Our bathroom shower will be the nado shelter. It's stout. Floor and ceiling is solid Crete. The block wall area inside the outside walls. Is that not what that is?
Strength fire sound and just because I can. Masonry out performs wood in almost everything accept time and cost. I'll never have any wall scratches or dings past the paint. I've gotten a lot of flack for the block "look" but I'm fine with it in certain rooms. I'm going to plaster over some rooms for a smooth finish. My wife will just have to learn to use a hammer drill to hang things....Looks good, I am curious why you did the walls out of block.
I apologize saying, "because I can." Sounded like a snippy bitch comment. Many people have poked fun me for doing this. I get a little edgy with it. Sorry...... I had a school mate die in the twister that went from Adams county Indiana to bowling green and one of the few structures that stud through its path when it was huge was a block house. I watched and had video of a different twister from my front yard. That's probably the main reason.Looks good, I am curious why you did the walls out of block.
