tried showing a bit better detail what im doing and the tool theif in action. Two walls left until trusses. My body is wearing down quicker being a hod carrier and mason and the manuel fork lift these days. Not 20 anymore thats 4 sure. Im looking forward to putting the roof on watching for bucks chasing from my elevated perch, and go after one...

Little pig, little pig, let me in.

Screw you. I built this brick house for a reason. Screw you tornadoes and big bad wolves. 😂

so far this is the only thing ive dropped the ball on estimation wise. Rebar is $1 a foot. 423 dollars of 3/4 bar laying here. Most commercial jobs 5/8 is used but i used 3/4 in the footer so i continued up with it. im over 3k worth of metal in this. Ill have another grand or 2 in it after more footers and porch construction next spring. Opps. Im sure ill be sticker shocked with somethin else during this.

Exterior walls all finished tonight. Current materials used.....
4500 block laid
17 tons mason sand
136 bags of mortar
35.25 yards of concrete delivered 10 tons of stone for mixing grout how many ever 100lb sacks of portland to mix 10tons of grout shitload of rebar holding it all together.

Had the best 2days working yet. Knocked out the last wall before trusses can go up. I might rough in the fireplace while the last wall cures a bit before putting weight on it. It will be nice to be able to start a fire in it this winter. Ill get pics from my wife soon. Going to hunt when i can and get my other kids on deer i hope and work on this. Winters coming...

the wind is whippin! About bidened my pants walking the top of the wall to get a bit of a brace up. I believe a sedative of some kind is n order until the wind dies to keep me sane. The only draw back to the flip phone is bad pics and goggle maps.

gosh darn it! With the lack of all masonry fireplaces built anymore dampers are ordered and not stocked regularly even at masonry supply yard around here. I dont enjoy being in towns or cities and hurry getting in and out. Well bought this at 11am and just looked it over, fugg! Cracked all the way through and no handle or lift arm that comes loosely bolted on where they r made. Someone probly already returned it once. My fault. Half day f up and gas money. Another hour 20 drive to return for a good one. Time is priceless with freeze nearing.
